Chana up 0.9% as demand picks up

Commodity for delivery in May traded higher by 0.93%

Chana prices moved up by 0.98% to Rs 3,104 per quintal in futures trading today as traders enlarged their positions, tracking a firming trend at the spot market on pick up in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May rose by Rs 30, or 0.98% to Rs 3,104 per quintal with an open interest of 96,280 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 29, or 0.93% to Rs 3,164 per quintal in 56,780 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarging their positions driven by a firming trend at spot market on good demand, mainly helped chana prices to trade higher at futures trade.
