Chemfab Alkalis has soared 17% to Rs 89.95 after reporting over two-fold jump in net profit at Rs 6.86 crore for the third quarter ended December 2012 (Q3) on the back of higher sales. The company had profit of Rs 2.81 crore during the previous quarter.
“Total income from operations grew 63% on year-on-year to Rs 30.81 crore in December 2012 quarter,” Chemfab Alkalis said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the board of directors of the company has declared interim dividend of Rs 5 per share (100%) for 2012-13.
Chemfab Alkalis is engaged in manufacturing of caustic soda lye, liquid chlorine, hydrogen gas, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite and barium sulphate.
The stock opened at Rs 81.15 and hit a high of Rs 92.20 on the NSE. As many as a combined 75,500 shares have already changed hands on the counter in opening deals against an average around 70,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks.
