Chilli gains 1.24%

Tight supplies triggered the uptrend

Chilli prices gained 1.24% to Rs 6,212 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the March contract rose by Rs 76, or 1.24% to Rs 6,212 per quintal with an open interest of 5,020 lots.

Similarly, the April contract traded higher by Rs 72, or 1.15% to Rs 6,330 per quintal in 2,650 lots.

Analysts said restricted arrivals from producing belts and tight supplies position fuelled the uptrend.
