Red chilli and jeera prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today, due to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Fresh arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Red chilli fell by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 6,500-12,200 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 15,000-15,100 and Rs 17,000-17,500 per quintal, respectively.
Market analysts said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters against fresh arrivals from producing belts mainly pulled down the chilli and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
