Red chilli and jeera prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and exporters amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices. Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 9,200-13,200 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also added Rs 200 to settle at Rs 14,400-14,600 and Rs 16,600-16,700 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said sentiments turned better following pick-up in domestic and export demand against restricted arrivals, pushing chilli and jeera prices up, on the wholesale kirana market here.
