Chilli, pepper up on stockists buying support

Red chilli and pepper prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying support by stockists and exporters.

Red chilli prices rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6,300-10,900 per quintal.

Black pepper prices also traded higher at by Rs 23,300-23,400 against previous closing of Rs 23,200-23,300 per quintal.

Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand and firming trend at futures market mainly pushed up chilli and pepper prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 12,500-19,000, black pepper common 23,300-23,400 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,110-1,125 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,210-1,360

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,310--1,360, cardamom (colour robin) 1,370-1,400, cardamom bold 1,400-1,420, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,520 and cloves (kg) 340-400
