Chilli rises on stockists buying

Red chilli prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists following pick up in exports demand. 

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also supported the uptrend. Red chilli prices rose by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 6,000- 11,200 per quintal.

Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand, and firming trend at futures market.

They said restricted arrivals from producing belts Guntur, in Andhra pradesh also supported the uptrend.

Ajwain 16,000-19,500, black pepper common 22,300-22,400 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 980-990 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,200-1,225
