Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and retailers.

Restricted supplies from producing regions and firming trend in futures trade also supported the rise in prices.

Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 9,100-13,100 per quintal. Turmeric also traded higher at Rs 9,800-15,100 against previous closing of Rs 8,600-14,600 per quintal.

Market analysts said increased buying activity driven by pick-up in domestic demand mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices in the wholesale market here.
