Chilli prices weakened by Rs 76 to Rs 7,986 per quintal in futures trading today on sluggish demand in the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in June shed Rs 76, or 0.94% to Rs 7,986 per quintal, with an open interest of 10,500 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July lost Rs 74, or 0.89% to Rs 8,230 per quintal in 6,840 lots.
Market analysts said a weak trend in the spot market on sluggish demand mainly led to the decline in chilli futures prices.
