In restricted activity, coconut oil prices rose by Rs 60 per tin on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on stockists buying followed by pick up in demand from retailers.
In the non-edible section, linseed oil also showed some strength after enquiries from the paint industries. Traders said pick up in retailers demand helped the wholesale coconut oil prices to rise.
In the edible section, coconut oil shot up by Rs 60 to Rs 1,020-1,050 per tin of 15 litres. Among the non-edible section, linseed oil also gained Rs 50 to Rs 4,000 per quintal.
