Copper slipped further by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on increased selling by stockists, influenced by a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange.
Marketmen said increased selling by stockists after a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange led to a fall in copper prices. Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months dropped by 0.2 per cent to $6,435 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
Copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap declined further Rs 2 each to Rs 354, Rs 373 and Rs 332 per kg, respectively.
