Copper futures prices today fell by 0.36% to Rs 433.35 per kg today, as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weakening global trend under pressure due to worries about Chinese demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the November delivery for copper fell by Rs 1.55, or 0.36%, to Rs 433.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,521 lots.
The February contract shed Rs 1.50, or 0.34%, to Rs 439.40 per kg, with a trade volume of 300 lots.
Analysts said apart sluggish domestic demand, a weak trend in the global markets amid worries about Chinese demand, mainly kept pressure on copper futures here.
Globally, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.40% to $8,099 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange, while at Shanghai Futures Exchange, the metal for most-active January contract fell by 0.90% to 58,450 yuan ($9,300) per tonne.
