Copper futures fell by 0.25% today, as speculators reduced their positions, taking weak cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, February copper fell by Re 1, or 0.25%, to Rs 406.45 per kg, in a turnover of 5,022 lots.
The April delivery declined by 95 paise, or 0.24%, to Rs 410.20 per kg in 437 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in copper futures prices to a weakening trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.4% to $7,750.25 per tonne on the LME.
