Copper futures prices fell by Rs 3.25 to Rs 448.05 per kg today as speculators reduced their positions, driven by weak global trends.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April declined by Rs 3.25, or 0.72 per cent, to Rs 448.05 per kg, with a business volume of 11 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June lost Rs 2.80, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 451.30 per kg, with a trade volume of just two lots.
Market analysts said offloading by speculators, triggered by weak trend in global market on concern that demand in China, the largest user may not be as robust.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.9 per cent to $9,795 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
