Taking positive cues from global markets and pick-up in spot demand, copper futures rose by 0.45% to Rs 403.10 per kg today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for August delivery gained Rs 1.80, or 0.45%, to Rs 403.10 per kg, with a turnover of 3,478 lots.

September copper moved up by Rs 1.80, or 0.44%, to Rs 407.50 per kg, with a turnover of 323 lots.

Market analysts said besides pick-up in domestic demand, firming trend at the London Metal Exchange, boosted by an overnight rebound in US and European equities, along with better-than-expected US jobless claims data, influenced copper futures prices here.
