Copper, lead strengthen on increased industrial demand

Copper and lead remained firm and increased by Rs 2 per kg, in the wholesale non-ferrous metal market today on account of increased industrial demand amid a firm trend overseas.

Traders said increased industrial demand amid a firm global trend mainly pushed up copper and lead prices.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap remained in demand and added another Rs 2 each each to Rs 505, Rs 528 and Rs 488 per kg, respectively.

Lead ingot and imported followed suit and traded higher by Re 1 each to Rs 141 and Rs 144 per kg, respectively.
