Copper, nickel recovers on global cues

Copper and nickel prices rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today, largely in tandem with firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Sentiment turned better after copper in London rebounded from its biggest drop in more than a month on better-than-expected US economic data. 

Meanwhile, copper for three-month rose 1.1 per cent to $9,654.25 a tonne on the LME.

Copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 483, Rs 507 and Rs 468, respectively, while nickel (4x4) followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,024-1,026 per kg, respectively.
