Copper, nickel rise on pick up in demand

Copper and nickel prices traded marginally higher by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on fresh buying by stockists followed by pick up in demand.

Recovery in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange in early trade today, after yesterday's meltdown, also supported the recovery in select base metal prices at the wholesale market here.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 359, Rs 378 and Rs 337, while nickel (4x4) traded higher by the same margin at Rs 866-980 per kg.
