Copper and nickel prices rose by Rs 3 per kg in the local non-ferrous metals market today on good demand from the consuming industries amid firming global trend.
Traders said pick up in demand after reports of better trend in overseas markets mainly led to a rise in copper and nickel prices.
Meanwhile, copper for September delivery in Shanghai jumped 2 per cent to $7,561 a tonne.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 355, Rs 374 and Rs 334 and nickel (4x4) gained Rs 3 to 881-995 per kg, respectively.
