Copper recovers on higher global trend

Copper prices recovered by Rs 3 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on fresh buying by stockists in tandem with a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange.

Traders said fresh buying by stockists after reports of firming trend at the London Metal Exchange pushed up copper prices. Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months jumped 1.1 per cent to $6,770 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

Copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap recovered by Rs 3 each to Rs 358, Rs 377 and Rs 336 per kg, respectively.
