Copper remains up on higher global trend

Copper prices continued to rise for the fourth straight day by adding Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on pick up in demand from consuming industries.

Firming trend at London Metal Exchange also influenced the prices. 

Marketmen said, besides firming trend at the London Metal Exchange, pick up in demand from consuming industries mainly pushed up copper prices.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery traded at$8,723.75 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange. 

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were added Rs 2 each to Rs 452, Rs 476 and Rs 437 per kg.
