Copper prices lost 0.59% to Rs 412 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions, triggered by weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November copper declined by Rs 2.45, or 0.59%, to Rs 412 per kg, with a business turnover of 7,721 lots.
The February contract moved down by Rs 2.25, or 0.54% to Rs 416.40 per kg, with a trade turnover of 446 lots.
Market analysts said a weak trend in global markets on fears that demand may decline on slowing economic growth, led to a decline in copper futures prices here.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.8% to $8,891 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
