Copper strengthens on global cues

Copper prices strengthened by Rs 2 per kg on the local metal market today on increased demand from consuming industries amid a firm global trend.

Marketmen said increased demand from consuming industries and firming trend in overseas markets mainly helped copper prices to strengthen.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were added Rs 2 each to Rs 513, Rs 536 and Rs 496 per kg, respectively. 

Following were today's quotations in Rs per kg:

Tin ingot 840, zinc ingot 131.50, nickel plate (4x4) 1,060-1,062, gun metal scrap 226 bell metal scrap 228, copper wire scrap 513, copper wire bar 536, copper mixed scrap 496, Utensil scrap 224, Chadripital 175

Lead ingot 143, lead imported 146, aluminium ingots 112, sheet cutting 113, aluminium wire scrap 112 and aluminium utensils scrap 109
