Copper traded higher by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on fresh buying by stockists, supported by a recovery in base metals at the London Metal Exchange.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists on pick-up in industrial demand amid a comeback in metal at the London Metal Exchange mainly led to rise in copper prices.
Meanwhile, copper gained 0.2% to $9,060 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 512, Rs 535 and Rs 495 per kg, respectively.
