Copper prices weakened by Rs 1.15 to Rs 361.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions in tandem with the weakening global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for November contract delivery declined by Rs 1.15, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 361.10 per kg in a business volume of 20 lots.
Similarly, the metal for February delivery weakened by Rs 0.95, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 363.15 per kg in three lots.
Analysts said speculators reducing their positions in tandem with the weakening global trend mainly led to the decline in copper prices in futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper for quarterly delivery fell by 1.4 per cent to $7,953 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
