Copper, zinc up on global cues

Prices of copper and zinc rose by up to Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on pick-up in industrial demand amid a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME). 

Traders said besides a firming trend at the LME, increased industrial demand pushed up copper and zinc prices. 

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery climbed 1.2% to $8,902 a metric tonne on the LME. In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were rebounded by Rs 2 each to Rs 505, Rs 528 and Rs 488, respectively. 

Zinc ingot advanced by a rupee at Rs 136.50 per kg.
