Copra Alapuzha firms up on better demand

Copra Alapuzha prices firmed up in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today due to rising demand from stockists and retailers amid good offtake from millers.

Copra office Alapuzha rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 5,400 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 5,300. 

However, there was no trading in copra Rajapur Mumbai and copra edible Mumbai due to closure of market in view of 'Ashadi Ekadashi'.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs with the previous rates in brackets:   

Black pepper (per kg) 278/305 (278/305), ginger bleached (per kg) 150 (150), ginger unbleached (per kg) 180 (180), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 5,400 (5,300)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 5,200 (5,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) Closed (8,850) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) Closed (7,300)
