Copra edible declines on poor demand

Copra edible declined in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today due to lower retail demand amidst poor consumer offtake.

Copra edible Mumbai dropped by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 7,200 from overnight closing level of Rs 7,300.

Meanwhile, rest all other spices ruled steady on lack of buying support.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 243/261 (243/261), ginger bleached (per kg) 163 (163), ginger unbleached (per kg) 193 (193), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,100 (6,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,000 (6,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 7,800 (7,800) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,200 (7,300).
