Copra edible strengthens due to rise in demand

Copra edible prices rose in the spices market here today due to steady demand from stockists and retailers as well as higher offtake from exporters.

Copra edible Mumbai went up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,600 from overnight closing level of Rs 6,500.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 233/247 (233/247), ginger bleached (per kg) 230 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 245 (245), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) Unav. (5,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) Unav. (5,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 8,200 (8,200) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 6,600 (6,500).
