Copra Rajapur declines on stockists selling

Copra Rajapur prices declined at the spices market here today due to heavy offloading by stockists and traders.

On the other hand, copra Kozhikode firmed up on better retail demand.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai dropped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 6,800 from last Thursday's closing level of Rs 7,000.

However, copra office Kozhikode gained by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 5,100, as against Rs 5,050 previously.

There was no trading in pepper and ginger due to closure of market in view of Diwali festival.

Following are today's closing rates in rupees, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kilo) Closed (201/221), ginger bleached (per kilo) Closed (230), ginger unbleached (per kilo) Closed (245), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 5,150 (5,150), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 5,100 (5,050), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,800 (7,000) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 6,000 (6,000).
