Copra prices spurted at the spices market here today due to increased demand from stockists and traders as well as firm export offtake amidst restricted arrivals from key growing regions.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai and copra office Alapuzha both went up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 8,100 and Rs 6,450 from overnight closing level of Rs 8,000 and Rs 6,350.
Copra edible Mumbai and copra office Kozhikode also rose by Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 7,550 and Rs 6,250 respectively, as against Rs 7,500 and Rs 6,200 yesterday.
However, black pepper and ginger prices continued to trade steable in the absence of necessary buying support.
