Copra prices tumbled at the spices market here today, due to consistent selling by stockists and traders amidst subdued demand from exporters as well as millers.
Apart from sluggish demand, good arrivals of fresh crop at the domestic market too aided bearish sentiments, traders said.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai plunged by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 8,200 from last Friday's closing level of Rs 8,400 and copra office Kozhikode dropped by Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 6,600 as compared to Rs 6,750.
Copra office Alapuzha and copra edible Mumbai declined by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 6,800 and Rs 7,750 respectively, against Rs 6,900 and Rs 7,850 previously.
Meanwhile, black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached closed stable in the absence of market moving factors.
