Cottonseed up 0.6% on increase buying

Rising demand at spot markets, fall in supplies influenced trading sentiments in futures trade

Cottonseed prices rose by Rs 9 to Rs 1,498 per quintal in futures trade today after participants enlarged positions driven by rising demand in spot markets.

Marketmen said besides rising demand at spot markets, fall in supplies mainly influenced trading sentiments in futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, cottonseed oil for delivery in December contracts up by Rs 9, or 0.61%, to Rs 1,487 per quintal, having an open interest of 61,400 lots.

Similarly, delivery in January month contract advanced by Rs 7, or 0.47%, to Rs 1,492 per quintal, with an open interest of 30,620 lots.
