Tracking a weak global trend, crude oil prices declined by Rs 18 to Rs 4,864 per barrel in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October contract for crude oil declined by Rs 18, or 0.37%, to Rs 4,864 per barrel, with a business turnover of Rs 29,316 lots.
The November contract lost Rs 17, or 0.35%, to Rs 4,898 per barrel in 3,816 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in crude oil futures to weak global trend.
Meanwhile, crude for November delivery slid 4 cents to $91.21 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
