Crude oil futures prices fell by Rs 17 to Rs 4,292 per barrel today on selling by traders, tracking a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in July month fell by Rs 17, or 0.39%, to Rs 4,292 per barrel, with a business turnover of 2,607 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June declined by Rs 16, or 0.38%, to Rs 4,245 per barrel, with an open interest of 14,401 lots.
Traders said selling by traders in tandem with weak trend in overseas market mainly led to decline in futures trade.
Meanwhile, crude for July delivery slipped by 56 cents to $94.39 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
