Crude oil futures prices rose by Rs 21 to Rs 3,691 per barrel today, as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, crude oil for delivery in November rose by Rs 21, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 3,691 per barrel, with a business turnover of 111 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December moved up by Rs 20, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 3,742 per barrel, with a business volume of 21 lots.

Marketmen said positions enlarged by speculators and firming trend in global markets, mainly led to the rise in crude oil futures prices.

Meanwhile, crude oil for the December delivery rose by 97 cents to $82.66 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
