Crude oil prices rose by Rs 9 to Rs 4,276 per barrel in futures trade today tracking a firming trend in the overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 9, or 0.21%, to Rs 4,276 per barrel, with a business turnover of 18,807 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in July gained Rs 7, or 0.16%, to Rs 4,325 per barrel, with an open interest of 4,644 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in crude oil futures price to a firming global trend.
Meanwhile, crude for July delivery gained 73 cents to $95.54 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
