Crude palm oil prices gained Rs 2.50, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 374.30 per 10 kg in futures trading today, as traders created fresh positions on the back of a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for September gained Rs 2.50, 0.67 per cent, to Rs 374.30 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 518 lots.
The oil for delivery in current-month July also traded higher by Rs 2.20, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 375.10 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 987 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators and reports of a firming trend in global markets mainly pushed up crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, palm oil futures for September delivery rose 1.7 per cent to $773 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
