Delta Corp has rallied 12% to Rs 83, extending its 12% gain in past one-week on the BSE, after the company announced that the Goa government extended its offshore casino licenses to operate casinos on the Mandovi River till March 31, 2017.
“The government has granted further extension to the offshore casino licenses to relocate their offshore casinos from Mandovi River for a further period till an alternate feasible site is finalized by the government or till March 31, 2017 whichever is earlier,” Delta Corp said in a statement on April 1, 2016.
With this, Delta will strengthen its presence thereby reinforcing its leadership position in the Indian gaming and entertainment space, it added.
At 12:57 pm, the stock was up 9% at Rs 81 on the BSE as compared to 0.40% decline in the S&P BSE Sensex. The trading volumes on the counter more than doubled with a combined 8.66 million shares changed hands on the BSE and NSE.
