Dish TV India has dipped 3% to Rs 78 after the company announced that it will offer a basic channel pack free of cost for all users who shift to their service from an existing cable TV connection in the four metro cities.
“Under the offer the customers in the four metros - New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, will be eligible to receive a basic channel tier comprising of 70 channels free of cost for life, as against this, TRAI had recommended and all cable MSO‟s are providing the basic tier at Rs 100/- per month to their subscribers,” the country’s largest DTH service provider said in a press release.
The stock opened at Rs 80 and hit a low of Rs 77.25 on the NSE. A combined 3.78 million shares have changed hands on the counter so far on both the exchanges.
