DLF to make Sensex debut on Nov 19

DLF has been included in the BSE's Sensex, effective 19 November. This makes DLF the first real estate company to figure in the bellwether index.
 
The Delhi-based company will replace Dr Reddy's Lab in the index, which is constituted of 30-top companies.
 
The share price of DLF has risen by 44 per cent since listing. The company has a market cap of Rs 1,43,154.80 crore at the current price of Rs 839.70.
 
In a press release here, the BSE said it was revamping its other indices as well. In the BSE 100 Index, Asian Paints, Biocon, Canara Bank, Dabur India, Dish TV and Videocon will be replaced by Adani Enterprises, Idea Cellular, Jindal Steel and Power, Patni Computer Services, Power Finance Corporation and Union Bank of India respectively.
 
In the BSE 200, the new inclusions are Educomp Solutions, GVK Power, Idea Cellular, NIIT, Sintex and Welspun Gujarat.
 
The new entrants in the BSE 500 are MMTC, Binani Cement, Geojit Financial Services and Vishal Retail.
 
Engineers India, MMTC and Power Grid Corporation have been added in place of Balmer Lawrie and HMT in the BSE PSU.
 
The changes in the BSE PSU and sectoral indices will be effective from November 19. Changes in the BSE 100, BSE 200 and BSE 500 will be effective from October 15, 2007.
