In US, Dow JOnes climbed 1% (96 points) to 8,125. The Nasdaq rose 3% (44 points) to 1,670.
Indian ADRs were mixed.
MTNL slumped 4% to $2.93. Dr Reddy's plunged 3.5% to $10.67.
Tata Motors and Tata Communications dropped 3% each to $7.59 and $22.84, respectively.
Sterlite and Satyam declined 2% each.
On the other hand, Wipro and Genpact surged 3% each to $8.32 and $9.35, respectively.
Patni Computers and Infosys rallied more than 2.5% each to $6.75 and $27.5, respectively.
