The US indices ended on a positive note on unexpectedly higher jobs added in July and Federal Reserve's talk of boosting measures to stabilize financial companies. The Dow Jones industrial average rallied 186 points to 11,584. The Nasdaq was up 10 points at 2,330.
Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. Sterlite surged nearly 8% to $14.74. Tata Communications rallied 3.5% to $21.07, and MTNL surged 3% to $5.12. Genpact was up nearly 1% at $13.16.
On the other hand, Patni Computers and Tata Motors plunged nearly 5% each to $10.42 and $9.47, respectively. Dr.Reddy's slipped nearly 3% to $13.89, and HDFC Bank shed 2% at $80.19. ICICI Bank was down 1.5% at $29.88.
