The base metals market continued to remain subdued in the local market following the trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
 
Locally, the price of nickel cathodes continued on its losing spree and closed at Rs 713 per kilogram, from Rs 720 on Monday.
 
Copper wire bars rose to Rs 200 from Rs 202 on Monday. Copper heavy scraps closed at Rs 177 on Monday, from Rs 179 last week. The price was at Rs 175 on Friday and Saturday before mildly appreciating on Monday.
 
Copper utensil scraps lost a rupee and closed at Rs 156 from Rs 157 and brass utensil scraps displayed a similar trend and closed at Rs 116 from Rs 118.
 
Brass sheet cutting closed at Rs 125 down by a rupee from last Monday. It had however touched Rs 124 on Friday and Saturday.
 
Aluminium utensil scraps remained steady most of the week at Rs 83 except for Wednesday and Thursday when it dropped by 50 paise.
 
The price of aluminium ingots closed the same as last week at Rs 101 although it was Rs 100 all through the week and lead ingots closed at Rs 52.50 from Rs 54.
 
Zinc slabs closed at Rs 72.25 down from last week's Rs 73. Tin slabs closed at Rs 512.00 from Rs 520 last week. Copper light scraps lost Rs 2 by the end of the week to close at Rs 166.
 
Copper sheet cutting closed at Rs 160 from Rs 163.
