Dyestuff makers seek abolition of dumping duty

The Rs 16,000-crore dyestuff (colorant) industry has asked for a cut in excise duty to 8 per cent from 14 per cent to keep the industry alive.

"India is currently facing a huge raw material shortage for dyestuff manufacturing. The anti-dumping duty should be abolished," said Janak Mehta, president of the the Dyestuff Manufacturers' Association of India (DMAI)at its 58th annual general meeting in Mumbai on Friday.
