Select edible oil prices rose by Rs 20 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on fresh buying by vanaspati millers amid a firming global trend.
Buying activity in edible oils picked up as palm oil advanced in Malaysia on speculations that demand may increase.
Meanwhile, palm oil for the July delivery contract rose by 1.2% to $1,119 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange. In the national capital, crude palm oil (ex-kandla) rose by Rs 20 to Rs 5,200.
Likewise, palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils traded higher by the same margin to Rs 5,750 and Rs 5,450 per quintal, respectively.
