Groundnut oil prices rose at the oils and oilseeds market here today due to fresh buying from stockists and retailers, amid restricted arrivals from key producing regions.
Refined palmolein moved up on good domestic offtake.
Castorseeds bold and castorseeds commercial strengthened on renewed industrial demand coupled with firm export enquiries.
Castorseed futures market also edged higher owing to speculative buying on the back of increased spot market demand.
Linseed oil, however closed stable in the absence of any market-moving factors.
In the edible oil segment, groundnut oil gained by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 820 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 810 and refined palmolein edged higher by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 558 as compared to Rs 555 previously.
Turning to non-edible segment, castorseed bold rose by Rs 55 per 100 kg to Rs 5,180 from its overnight closing level of Rs 5,125 and castor oil commercial added Rs 11 per 10 kg to Rs 1,066 as compared to Rs 1,055.
Moving to futures section, castorseeds for June delivery resumed higher at Rs 4,955 and hovered between Rs 4,980 and Rs 4,930 before closing at Rs 4,945 from Rs 4,930 yesterday, disclosing a marginal gain of Rs 15 per tonne.
