Wholesale prices of select edible oils rose up to Rs 100 per quintal in the oils and oilseeds market today, on the back of firming trend overseas and pick up in demand from vanaspati units.
Marketmen said reports of firming trend in palm oil overseas, which traded 1.1 per cent higher at $1,123 a tonne on the Malaysian Derivatives Exchange and increased offtake by vanaspati units influenced the select edible oil prices here.
In the national capital, palmolein (rbd)oils added Rs 20 to Rs 5,770 while soyabean (kandla) by Rs 100 to Rs 5,400 per quintal.
