Essar Ports, Essar Oil slump as promoters deny delisting plans

There were media reports that Essar Group was considering delisting of its publically traded group companies

Shares of Essar Ports and Essar Oil today fell after both the companies denied delisting plans.

Essar Ports's stock ended 9.15 per cent lower at Rs 80.40 on the BSE. In intra-day, it plunged 13.67 per cent to Rs 76.40.

Shares of Essar Oil also lost 2.91 per cent to Rs 86.90.

"The company has not received any communication / proposal from its promoters of their intention to delist the equity shares," both the companies had said in a similar-worded filings to the stock exchanges yesterday.

There were media reports that Essar Group was considering delisting of its publically traded group companies.

Essar Group stocks have witnessed a strong upmove recently.

Meanwhile, in the stock market the 30-share key index Sensex ended at 24,374.40, up 76.38 points.
