Export interest in Robusta parchment at auction

Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) coffee auction on Thursday witnessed selective export interest in Robusta parchments. The volumes have more than doubled to 133 tonnes as against last week's 60 tonnes.

According to Caritt Moran and Company, there was improved internal demand in Thursday's auction as asking prices moved lower, in line with the slump in international futures.

Of the 444 metric tonne offered for sale (last week 265 tonne) 133 tonnes were sold (last week 60 tonne). Of the stock on sale Arabica comprised of 266 tonne (last week 157 tonne), Robusta 178 tonne (last week 108 tonne).

Following are the prices quoted for grades in Rs/50kg.

Arabica varities: Arabica Parchment PB Rs 4,539 (quantity sold 4,975 kg), Arabica Parchment AA Rs 4582 (2,725 kg), Arabica Parchment A Rs 4,611 (6225 kg), Arabica Parchment C Rs 3,937 (8,000 kg), Arabica Parchment BBB Rs 3,150 (115 kg), Arabica Cherry PB Rs 3250 (6150 kg), Arabica Cherry AA Rs 3,554 (14,303 kg), Arabica Cherry C Rs 2698 (19,520 kg).

Robusta varities: Robusta Parchment PB Rs 2800 (634 kg), Robusta Parchment AA Rs 2800 (9,000 kg), Robusta Parchment AB Rs 2,750 (15,000 kg), Robusta Parchment BBB Rs 2,225 (2,796 kg), Robusta Cherry PB Rs 2,400 (4,695 kg), Robusta Cherry AA Rs 2,600 (500 kg), Robusta Cherry AB Rs 2,475 (1,630 kg), Robusta Cherry C Rs 2,417 (591 kg), Robusta Cherry BBB Rs 2228 (13,476kg).
